LegalSifter supports Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for all organizations and users. MFA is a security system that requires more than one method of authentication from independent categories of credentials to verify the user's identity for a login or other transaction. For LegalSifter, the two categories are knowledge of your password and possession of your cell phone. Your Client Administrators can enable MFA for your organization following these instructions.
Enroll in MFA
The first time you login after your Client Administrator registers your Organization for MFA, you will be prompted to enter your phone number.
Enter your mobile number with Country Code and click Send Code.
Once you click Send Code, you will receive a message with the code. You should enter the code on the screen to which you are routed.
Note that it may take a couple minutes to get your code. Please wait before selecting Resend Code.
Entering MFA code to verify
Your MFA interval is set by your administrator, but is most commonly 30 days. When you enroll in MFA, a cookie is stored on your computer that confirms your MFA verification for 30 days (0r other interval).
After 30 days on that device/browser, on a new device, or if you clear your cookies, you will be prompted to enter a code again.
Once you click Send Code, you will receive a message with the code. You should enter the code on the screen to which you are routed.
Note that it may take a couple minutes to get your code. Please wait before selecting Resend Code.
Optional: Install Authy App
The default method for getting your code in the above steps is via SMS (Text message) to your phone
If you install the Authy App on your phone or computer and register your phone number, you will receive the code there.
