The contract sending process is started in your CRM (Salesforce). Starting on the Account or Opportunity, use the "Send a Contract" button to start the contract workflow.

First, choose the type of contract from the list of available document types.

Next, review the contract and complete the required fields. When all required fields are complete, the "Send" button becomes active.

Send For Signature or Send For Review.

When sending the contract, you can choose to send the contract directly for signature or send a word version of the contract to your customer for their internal review. Don't worry; if you send a contract for signature and the customer wants to negotiate, the signature request can be pulled back and the negotiation process initiated.

In both cases, a contract record is created in LegalSifter Control and its status can be tracked using the My Contracts list on the Deals page.

For Signature

When Sending for signature, you will need to choose the internal signer of the contract (Our Signer). Each Contract type has a default signer, but you have the ability to select the signer from a list of approved signers. Once you add your customer's contact information, this information will be inserted into the document automatically. You can personalize your signature request using the "Subject" and "Message" fields. You will be automatically Cc on all activities related to the signature request, but you can manually add additional recipients to the CC field.

Signature Order

The customer will always be the first signer of the document. The internal signer will only get an a signature request once the customer has signed.

Signature Email

Your customer will receive an email from the signature provider requesting the document be signed. Note that the Signature Request contains a link to download a Word copy of the agreement.

For Review

If you know that your customer is going to request changes to the contract you can send the contract directly for review. You can personalize the subject and message and add additional individuals to the CC list. You will automatically be Cc on the email sent to the customer.
